Our hazelnut flour has a fresh vibrant aroma. Hazelnuts are deprived of the shell and peel, then they are finely ground. The hazelnut flour thus obtained is sold in practice vacuum packs designed to maintain unaltered the natural fragrance of the fruit.
In the kitchen the use of hazelnut flour is quite varied, ranging from preparation of desserts and semifreddi, to dry and fluffy oven desserts; classic hazelnut flour recipes include: ice cream, fresh creams and spreads with cocoa similar to Nutella. A different use of hazelnut flour regards the baking of fresh pasta.
Recently, likewise other types of less common flour, the hazelnut one has found wide use in vegan diets being high in protein, monounsaturated fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Since the hazelnut flour is gluten-free, it is often used in celiac diets.
